Watched the first episode of 'Summer Heights High' this morning on the bus (via a free download of the full episode, something they'll be doing every week) and it is just as laugh-out-loud funny as I'd hoped (not great for the bus then...). It's a mockumentary show by comedian Chris Lilley and follows three main characters (all played by Lilley) at a public school. My wife and I loved his previous show 'We Can Be Heroes' and this is shaping up to be just as good.
The three characters are Mr G, a clearly gay drama teacher who sees himself as 'industry level' and thinks the school is lucky to have someone with his dramatic ability, Jonah, an islander thug kid who bullies other kids and genuinely feels that they should enjoy it because he's "punk'd" them, and Ja'mie, a girl from a rich private school who's on student exchange with Summer Heights High and who thinks that rich kids are better looking and that murderers and rapists all come from public schools (this character was in 'We Can Be Heroes' too).
Check out the short trailer vids for each character, and if you like them, you can download the full episodes free via a vodcast.
